Socialisation Sessions

When you prioritise confidence and connection in training classes, you don't need to worry about obedience.

A dog who enjoys cooperating with you, will natural do as you ask.
Our group sessions reject the traditional model of classes and instead we focus on having dogs who love engaging with us.  When this happens dog find joy in doing what we ask, they lose interest in other dogs and the are a pleasure to be around.

The aim of these classes is to improve your dog's social confidence around people and dogs while teaching them how to enjoying engaging and focusing on you.

Who are these sessions for;
  • Clients who have already had 1-2-1 training, or have attended a workshop.
  • Dogs who will benefit from working in a group.
  • A mixed age of dogs.  Some will be puppies, other's are young adults.

How do these sessions work;
  • Every month I release new dates for these classes.  You will receive an email.
  • The classes fit in around my schedule so the day or time may vary.
  • You just book the sessions you want to come to.
  • You can come to a few or as many as you want.  This is not a course so no pressure to attend all sessions.
  • This means there will be different dogs each week.

What happens at the sessions;
  • The aim is to teach your dog to enjoy training with you around the distractions of other dogs and people.
  • This may include your dog being allowed off lead to play and socialise.  However this strictly depends on my risk assessment on the day.
  • We will work on basic training, that will feel fun and low pressure to you and your dog.  It's deceptively easy but gets big results.
  • You will also learn some fun games, like scent work, teaching your dog body awareness and skills that can be used in agility.
  • You will learn lots about body language and dog communication.
  • Your dog will grow in confidence and learn how to enjoy engaging with you while being appropriate with other dogs.

What you need to bring;
  • Your dog should be wearing a comfortable harness or flat collar.
  • A generous length of lead, or long line
  • Absolutely no slip collars/leads or prong collars
  • No extending leads
  • Lots of treats.
